Netscape and its descendants (Mozilla, Firefox) are only being updated for OS X, however older versions also run under Mac OS 8 and 9. Version 8 was outsourced to some Canadian company, was never Mac-compatible, and lacked the features that made Netscape Netscape: integrated mail/address book, HTML composer, IRC, etc. So Version 9 is cross platform. Those Mac users who don't like using Safari may want an alternative. Netscape X for Mac is a solid option that performs well with all of the features expected of a good Web browser.
Developer Felix Rieseberg won our hearts and minds a couple of years ago, when he released Windows 95 as an Electron app that you could run in Windows, macOS and Linux. Sound blaster live drivers for mac. He even updated it a year ago to make it faster and bundled playable versions of gaming classics such as Doom and Wolfenstein3D alongside the OS.
Now he’s back with an installable version of Mac OS 8 that you can run on any modern computer, and he’s included a number of Mac apps and games with it, including Photoshop 3, Premiere 4, Illustrator 5.5, Oregon Trail, and Duke Nukem 3D.

This time around, he’s moved to JavaScript for his macintosh.js app which uses a virtual machine to emulate a 1991 Macintosh Quadra 900 with a Motorola CPU. This was the processor Apple used before switching to the PowerPC architecture (Apple/IBM/Motorola) in the mid 1990s.
As for the software that’s included, Rieseberg says:
You'll find various games and demos preinstalled, thanks to an old MacWorld Demo CD from 1997. Namely, Oregon Trail, Duke Nukem 3D, Civilization II, Alley 19 Bowling, Damage Incorporated, and Dungeons & Dragons.
There are also various apps and trials preinstalled, including Photoshop 3, Premiere 4, Illustrator 5.5, StuffIt Expander, the Apple Web Page Construction Kit, and more.
You can transfer files from and to the system but you can’t connect to the internet in this release. Non-working versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape are installed, as is the Web Sharing Server, if you fancy playing around with those.

Some of us can’t even imagine a digital world before 2010, while others have been around for long enough to remember the thrills of a BBS.
And most of us don’t even realize how much computers have evolved in the last 30 years. For example, Mac OS 8.1 could be written today entirely in JavaScript and run as an app on Linux, macOS and Windows.
That’s exactly what Felix Riesenberg did. He turned an entire 1991 Macintosh Quadra running Mac OS 8.1 into a single Electron app that can run cross-platform.
NOTE: Mac OS 8 was released in 1997.
The app emulates a Macintosh Quadra 900 with the Motorola CPU Apple used before its transition to IBM’s PowerPC chips.

The best part, it really is fully functional and it comes preloaded with a bunch of games and apps like Duke Nukem 3D, Civilization II, Dungeons & Dragons, Namely, Oregon Trail, Alley 19 Bowling, Damage Incorporated, Photoshop 3, Premiere 4, Illustrator 5.5, StuffIt Expander, and Apple’s Web Page Construction Kit.
The only thing that’s not working, although fully understandable, is web browsing. Felix included Internet Explorer and Netscape into the app but the programs are so old they are incapable of resolving anything.

Furthermore, as the app is basically a virtual machine, you can even transfer files to and from the machine.
